The Menu, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, turns an extravagant meal wickedly foul in an ominous new official trailer.

Searchlight Pictures unveiled the new official trailer for its upcoming fine dining comedy/horror, The Menu. The ominous film firmly set in an unorthodox culinary environment will feature The Northman star Anya Taylor-Joy and will look to hit theatrical screens ahead of Thanksgiving.

The Menu centers its focus around a young couple, played by Taylor-Joy and The Great star Nicholas Hoult, who travel to a private island to eat at an exclusive restaurant. The establishment's chef, played by The King's Man star Ralph Fiennes, has prepared a luxurious menu for the limited number of guests, with some unsuspecting surprises sprinkled into the recipe. The upscale experience will be something the patrons may never forget or survive in the new comedy/horror film.

The trailer opens with Taylor-Joy and Hoult boarding a small boat to venture to the remote island alongside a small number of dinner guests, which Taylor-Joy immediately finds puzzling. "Tonight will be madness," expresses Hoult's character in the early portions of the footage, foreshadowing the false promise of a pleasant evening. The robotic and rigid nature of the restaurant workers, alongside other unsuspecting culinary dishes, quickly reveals that things are not as they seem.

Mark Mylod will direct the upcoming Searchlight Pictures film, best known for his directorial work on the highly successful and Emmy award-winning HBO original series Succession. Mylod is not the only Succession team member invested in the upcoming horror comedy, which has reunited several core pieces of the hit series. Adam McKay, who served as executive producer on Succession, will serve as producer for the Searchlight Pictures film. In addition, Will Tracy and Seth Reiss, who both worked as writers on Succession, created The Menu's script and will look to bring their unique flare with a new twist.

Alongside the notable stars mentioned, the upcoming film will also star Hong Chau, John Leguizamo, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, Arturo Castro, Reed Birney, Paul Adelstein, Aimee Carrero, Rob Yang, and Mark St. Cyr. What sits deep beneath the surface of the exclusive establishment is unclear, but the trailer unearths a level of intrigue that piques interest to see how things will stand once the dust settles. "This is what you're paying for," states Fiennes in the latter portions of the trailer. "It's all a part of the menu." It'll be interesting to see what secrets linger on the menu that has the patrons incredibly fearful.

The Menu will have to compete at the box office with the release of the highly-anticipated Marvel Studios film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will hit theaters on November 11th. The Thanksgiving weekend will benefit both films, attracting different audiences demographics but in numbers that may skew one way more than the other. As the release date approaches, it'll be exciting to see more footage from The Menu, hopefully revealing more of the cryptic plot embedded in the bizarre culinary setting.

The Menu will hit theaters on November 18, 2022.
